These material topics derive from Environmental (planet), Social (people), Principles of governance, and Prosperity pillars with specific commitments in alignment with g-events\u2019 business activities.<\/p>\n<h3>Our purpose<\/h3>\n<p>As a Destination management company (DMC), professional conference organizer (PCO) and event management, we are dedicated to help create great memories for our clients that will last for a lifetime. We do onsite events using our local experience in Iceland along with online and hybrid events.<br \/>Our clients should simply have to show up during our events. We take care of the rest.<\/p>\n<h3>Our policy commitments<\/h3>\n<p>We understand there are various ESG impacts associated with the DMC and PCO services we provide and are therefore committed to engrain sustainable development into our business. To guide our actions, we focus on material topics relevant for our business, based on their possible positive and negative impact on the company and the impact the company can have on those topics. The topics are categorised under the ESG pillars.<br \/>We have identified the social pillar as the most material ESG topic, including responsible marketing, human capital development and customer management. We are committed to prioritise working on these most material social topics and will continuously examine additional material ESG topics in the coming years.<\/p>\n<h3>Planet<\/h3>\n<p>We understand the impact we have on the environment through our services and thus consider it our responsibility to conduct our business responsibly to minimise our carbon footprint. g-events has identified the most material environmental impacts that the business can have as climate change and circular economy.<\/p>\n<h5>Climate change<\/h5>\n<p>g-events is aware that our operations contribute to climate change and is committed to map and measure the impacts of our activities in line with the Paris Agreement. The impacts of those activities will be decreased as a priority and the remainder offset.<br \/>-The key activities considered are our own vehicles, employees\u2019, clients\u2019 and contractors\u2019 commute both to and from travel and event sites, flights, waste, purchases, and on-site generators.<\/p>\n<h5>Circular economy<\/h5>\n<p>We aim to dedicate our resources efficiently and sustainably. Commitments to consider the GHG impacts of the value and supply chain include both upstream and downstream activities.<br \/>-To address the impact of our upstream supply chain, g-events is committed to purchase eco-friendly products and services when available.<br \/>-g-events has a zero-waste policy. To uphold that policy, we correctly dispose of all waste and ensure that the sorted waste is composted or recycled by active engagement with downstream waste management suppliers.<\/p>\n<h3>People<\/h3>\n<p>Since people are at the centre of our business operations, we aim to provide high quality services that are responsible and transparent. In line with our business purpose, we have identified the most material social matters as responsible marketing, human capital development and customer management and welfare.<\/p>\n<h5>Responsible marketing<\/h5>\n<p>g-events is committed to be truthful in all its marketing material that does not mislead or offend individuals or groups. We use clear marketing communication to give an honest representation of our services and application of our policies.<br \/>-We are against green, white or rainbow washing.<\/p>\n<h5>Human capital development<\/h5>\n<p>g-events seeks to ensure mental and physical well-being of employees and to minimise displacement during projects. Given the cyclical nature of long working hours during travel and events, we believe that work-life balance is important for the sustainable development of the company.<br \/>-To ensure g-events promotes a healthy work environment, we will work to ensure discrimination does not exist in any form according to race, gender, nationality, religion, and beliefs, and support gender equality through equal pay.<\/p>\n<h5>Customer management &amp; welfare<\/h5>\n<p>g-events seeks to ensure mental and physical well-being of customers during its projects. We are committed to provide enjoyable experiences and facilitate learning and development.<br \/>-Confidentiality of sensitive matters and honesty are thus promised.<\/p>\n<h3>Principles of governance<\/h3>\n<p>Strong leadership and governance practices are the foundation to a successful and sustainable business. Data privacy, cyber-security and business conduct are identified as the most material governance aspects for the company.<\/p>\n<h5>Data privacy &amp; cyber-security<\/h5>\n<p>Data privacy and cyber-security are crucial to the protection of g-event\u2019s stakeholders.<br \/>-g-events will actively work to protect its networks, products, and customer data by training employees on data security and ensuring that systems are up to date.<\/p>\n<h5>Business conduct<\/h5>\n<p>g-events is committed to ensuring that its employees and business partners operate according to the U.N. Global Compact principles on anti-corruption, human rights protection, and anti-discrimination.<br \/>-All employees are required to sign the ethical guidelines.<\/p>\n<h3>Prosperity<\/h3>\n<h5>Community commitment<\/h5>\n<p>g-events is committed to have an active stakeholder dialogue in the areas we operate in and seek to increase prosperity by promoting purposeful and sustainable practices throughout the economy.<br \/>-Increasing revenues, promoting opportunities for local economies, enhancing innovation and developing skilful employees are the positive impacts presented through our operations.<\/p>\n<h3>Roles, responsibilities &amp; transparency<\/h3>\n<p>This policy is owned and approved by g-events\u2019 Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the implementation and integration of the vision, commitments and goals stated in this Policy.<br \/>This sustainability Policy will be made publicly available on g-events\u2019 website and will be updated bi-annually.<\/p>\n<h3>UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/h3>\n<p>In accordance with the UN guidelines, g-events has selected two SDGs based on materiality and their relevance and impact to the business. Firstly, g-events commits to gender equality based on its strong ability to have positive social impacts. Secondly, decent work and economic growth relate to g-events\u2019 business operations and is thus acknowledged as a key consideration.<br \/><strong>5- Gender equality<\/strong><br \/>\u2014 5.5
